New or used
Choose a new tire when you want a fresh tire with no history. A used tire can cost less and may fit a short-term need. Either way the booking states which one is supplied.
Florida's invoice rule says a replacement part must be identified as used, rebuilt or reconditioned where that is what it is 1. If you are told a tire is new, the invoice should not say otherwise.
What to tell the business
- The tire size from the sidewall, or the vehicle make, model and year.
- New or used.
- One tire or more than one tire.
- Where the vehicle is.
The old tire
If you ask when the work is authorized, Florida lets you inspect or take back the parts removed, which for this job is the old tire 2. Ask at the start rather than at the end.
Estimates and price changes
A written estimate is required when the cost will exceed $1503. If the final cost would run over the estimate by more than $10 or 10 percent2, and never by more than $502, the shop needs your authorization first 2. The rules guide has the detail.
Who is responsible
The independent business supplies the tire, does the work and sets its price. Curbjack is the booking service and does not repair vehicles.
How it will work
The steps run from the job to the invoice. Bookings are not open yet.
